Learn what things trigger you to become impatient. When these situations are arising be extra alert so you can avoid falling into the old pattern of thinking and behavior
Starting to become impatient is a stress response. Ask yourself in what way do I feel threatened. Is it a real threat or just something created by my mind. Are there some unrealistic expectations or demands on my part? Am I mis-understanding the situation?
Break the stress cycle by avoid feeding into any negative thoughts that are coming up. Shift the mind into something positive. Consciously relax the body and breathe slowly and smoothly.
To create less impatience learn to hold attitudes, beliefs and expectations more lightly. Switch “must haves” to preferences. If we do this, we won’t get upset (or upset less) when we don’t get what we want.
Getting impatient is a choice.
